LOCASH claim their first No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart since 2016 with their current single, “Hometown Home,” which moved up one place to claim the top spot on this week’s chart. The duo, consisting of Preston Brust and Chris Lucas, co-authored the song along with Zach Abend and Andy Albert, with production by Jacob Rice. The success of “Hometown Home” is particularly meaningful to LOCASH as it marks their first No. 1 since launching their label, Galaxy Label Group. “We get to appreciate this hit on so many levels: as writers, artists and as record label executives,” said Brust and Lucas in a joint statement. “This song is so special. It’s been epic watching it land on people’s hearts. It just feels different bringing this one ‘home.’” This climb to the top of the charts – their first since “I Know Somebody” in October 2016 – marks the longest gap between No. 1s for duos or groups since Alabama‘s wait of more than 17 years from 1993-2011.
