With the start of a new school year at Michigan Tech. Comes a brand new presenting series season at the Rozsa Center on campus. Each year the presenting season brings in top-tier talented musicians and speakers for the copper country. On Friday the Rozsa Center plans to kick off the season with an intimate soiree that will include appetizers, drinks, and a backstage concert with Gina Chavez.
She has a TED talk that’s talking about celebration of womanhood. She is also, she’s been nominated for a Latin Grammy in Best Pop Rock. So, it’s a really great musician that we thought would be a really wonderful person to highlight as a part of this moment. This will be a very intimate concert. There’s a limited number of tickets. We have 150 tickets that are sold. The event is held in the backstage and on the stage area of the Rozsa, and so it’s not people sitting out in the audience seats, but we’re going to have cocktail tables and some seats that are close. And so you’re really close up to Gina and you’ll be able to hear her and interact with her. – Jared Anderson, Chair of the Visual and Performing Arts Department, Michigan Technological University
The Rozsa Soiree at the Rozsa Center on Michigan Tech’s campus will begin at 7:30 pm on Friday. Tickets will cost 50 dollars. Or attendees can participate in the Pay as You’re Able ticket option. The Rozsa Soiree also plans to host a silent auction during the event that will help support the center’s ability to bring in renowned entertainment options in the Keweenaw Peninsula.
