Highland Copper names the Copperwood Mine Project’s project manager. Dr. Wynard van Dyk has been named by the Highland Copper Company as the Copperwood Mine project’s project manager. Van Dyk has 30 years of senior executive experience working in mining metallurgy, and capital projects. He began his career with DeBeers in South Africa, then worked for Hatch as a project manager and lead process engineer for its mining division. After spending 10 years with Lonmin Platinum van Dyk most recently was the Vice President of Engineering and Research and Development at Itafos in Texas. CEO of Highland Copper Barry O’Shea says that the company is pleased to bring van Dyk’s expertise as a leader at a pivotal point in the phase of the project. van Dyk says he’s thrilled for the opportunity to join Highland Copper’s team, adding he’s committed to creating a sustainable mining project that will meet the highest environmental standards.
