Austin Coon, Alexis Hernandez, and Jeremy Vetter will return to Baraga County 97th district court at the state of the new year. All three waived their right to a probable cause hearing in court yesterday and will stand before Judge Nicholas Daavettila after 21 days for a preliminary examination.
The individuals were arrested in connection to an assault on two people in Three Lakes in mid-November. Gunfire was reported to police at the incident. Officials say no firearm injuries were recorded. All three are charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. Jeremy Vetter faces an additional charge of resisting a police officer. Felonious assault in the state of Michigan carries a four-year sentencing maximum, a 2,000-dollar fine, and five years on probation. Resisting arrest carries a maximum sentence of two years in prison.
