A Hancock resident of Ward Two will step forward for candidacy on November 5th. Dean Woodbeck has submitted himself as a write-in candidate for the seat on the city council representing Ward Two in the city of Hancock.
Woodbeck has lived for nearly four decades and served 12 years with the Hancock school board. He currently serves the community as a chair for the Hancock Recreation Commission and as a member of the Hancock Housing Commission and Hancock Planning Commission. Woodbeck’s career includes 20 years with Michigan Technological University, as a freelance businessman, and 15 years working with a national consortium for research universities called Internet2.
Residents of Ward Two will have the option to write in Dean Woodbeck when casting ballots for the 2024 November election. Early voting has started in Houghton County, and Ward Two Hancock residents who wish to vote early may write in Woodbeck if they so choose. Hancock residents can also write in their council vote in person or absentee.
