Brit Heinonen of the Jeffers High School hockey team has been named the Jim Crawford Player of the Year in the Great Lakes Hockey League. Jets coach Aaron Helminen claimed the Don Miller Coach of the Year honor. Marquette freshman Easton Bal was named Rick Miller Rookie of the year.
Local players on the All-Conference First Team include Jeffers forward Brogan Turner, Calumet forward Nathan Londo, and Calumet goaltender Beau Jukuri.
Local players named to the Second Team include Hancock forward Tevin Stukel, Jeffers forward Benton Rajala, and Calumet defenseman Ted Loukus.
Honorable mention votes went to Calumet forward Brendan Boberg and Jeffers forward Cody Turner.

Jeffers and Calumet tied for the league title, with 5-1 conference records. Hancock finished third, with a conference mark of 4-2, followed by Escanaba and Marquette (each 3-3), Kingsford (1-5) and Negaunee (0-6). While some league teams played each other multiple times during the season, only one designated game counted in the conference standings.
Houghton did not play in the GLHL this season, opting to schedule as an independent.
