A Wisconsin man was fatally injured in a snowmobile accident on Friday.
At approximately 11 pm, the Ontonagon County sheriff’s office responded to a snowmobile personal injury accident on Trail #3 near Federal Forest Road and US 45 in Stannard Township. Deputies found a 36-year-old man from Bonduel, Wisconsin, who sustained critical injuries in the incident. First responders immediately began life-saving measures. The victim was later pronounced dead.
The Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Office believes speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash, and an investigation remains ongoing. No other information has been released at this time. The Ontonagon County Sheriff was assisted by SONCO Ambulance, Bruce Crossing Fire Department, and the Ontonagon County medical examiner.
