Northern Michigan University and Invest UP plan to launch a new program in 2025 to empower students. The new Wildcat Collective Leaders of Honor and Ambition program will work with participating students to develop leadership skills and achieve academic success while addressing shared goals, such as developing local talent retention and population growth to benefit upper peninsula communities and the university. A key feature of the program, says Invest UP CEO Marty Fittante is the integration of paid summer internships paired with summer housing opportunities, and the removal of financial barriers allowing students to fully engage with campus building activities. The four-year program is open to all students on campus, with ten selected each year to join the Wildcat Collective.
