As part of Apple Music’s popular ongoing Nashville Sessions EP series, Billy Strings and Zach Top are the latest music stars who have teamed up to record three traditional country collaborations. On Friday (November 1), Zach and Billy shared their duets of “Bad Luck,” “Things to Do,” and “Don’t Cheat in Our Hometown,” which are featured on the duo’s new Nashville Sessions EP. “Bad Luck” is a cover of Ricky Skaggs’ 1983 classic, while the original versions of “Things to Do” and “Don’t Cheat in Our Hometown” were both included on Zach’s debut album from April of 2024, Cold Beer and Country Music. The spare arrangements of Zach and Billy’s new collaborations put the spotlight on the pair’s rich, resonant vocals and deft guitar playing, with the minimalist production letting the strength of the songwriting ultimately shine through.
