A gunshot heard inside a Lake Linden home this morning led to a police investigation, but no injuries.
Houghton County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the the home near the intersection of Front Street and Ninth Street just after 10 am, after receiving calls from concerned neighbors.
They discovered that a 34-year-old man was experiencing mental health issues, and had fired the gun inside his home.
Deputies reported that the situation was resolved, with no danger to the community.
The Lake Linden Village Police Department will continue an investigation.
Additional support came from the Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Department, the Hancock and Houghton Police Departments, the Michigan State Police, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Mercy Ambulance, and the Bootjack First Responders.
