The Houghton Portage Township Schools will host its first informational session for the bond extension in September. Over the past year, the district’s board and leadership have been working on detailing plans for three improvements to the district’s facilities for advanced education. The projects are expected to construct an early childhood center and extension for elementary students. As well as improved STEM education spaces in the Middle school and High school. Ahead of the district starting school on September 3rd, Superintendent Anders Hill presented the work HPTS had completed over the summer to develop the bond language and analysis for expected revenue generation. The Houghton Portage Township school district will host its bond extension informational session on September 9th. The meeting will begin at 6 pm inside the high school library.
